Uncle Reg Abrahams is a founding cultural leader of Magic Lands Alliance and Senior Cultural Advisor to the feature film Magic Lands: Ngarram – Where Two Worlds Collide. He has played a central role in shaping the project’s cultural foundations, providing leadership, historical knowledge and strategic guidance throughout its development.

With decades of experience across cultural heritage, land management, community engagement and cultural education, Uncle Reg has dedicated much of his work to strengthening understanding of First Nations history, culture and Country. His experience has contributed to cultural, educational, environmental and community initiatives across Victoria and beyond.

For Uncle Reg, Magic Lands: Ngarram also carries deep personal significance. Family oral history connects his family directly to the story, including knowledge passed down through his grandmother, Mary Clarke. This living connection brings an additional responsibility to how the history is researched, interpreted and ultimately shared with audiences.

His role extends well beyond cultural consultation. Uncle Reg provides guidance across cultural protocols, historical interpretation, language, community relationships, education and the long-term cultural legacy being developed through Magic Lands Alliance.

Central to his approach is the philosophy of “Reconnecting Cultural Obligation” — the belief that storytelling can do more than preserve the past. It can strengthen relationships between people, culture and Country, create greater understanding, and build opportunities for future generations.

Through Magic Lands Alliance and Magic Lands: Ngarram, Uncle Reg is helping ensure that the project’s legacy reaches beyond the screen — connecting story, culture, education, community and Country for generations to come.
